Introducing “The Jade Guardian” – my custom DIY art toy for the P.Rilla, 100 Artists vs. 1 Gorilla, designer toy show at the Space Lab Gallery in Philadelphia, PA.

Deep jade green symbolizes protection and longevity, while gold represents wealth and honor. Inspired by jade jewelry and guardian figures, this piece transforms the raw physical power of the gorilla into a symbol of watchfulness and restraint—strength that stands guard rather than strikes. The gold bead necklace echoes prayer beads and talismans, symbolizing discipline, mindfulness, and wisdom accumulated over time. Engraved blossoms reference traditional jade ornamentation, where floral motifs signify renewal, balance, and the passage of time.
